If or When Miles leaves for Michigan it will hurt LSU you can stick your head in the sand all you want, but the man is a great recruiter and we will lose that edge unless you can find one quick. Who is there right now who can recruit his arse off and get kids to run through a brick wall for him. I for one will miss him.

yet there are so few examples of coaches who have achieved Les' level of success at LSU. It's not as easy as most think
I think Dinardo would have had better results than Miles with these players.
The biggest difference came from Saban actually building a real program. There are plenty of coaches that could manage it.

I didnt. ESPN did. They showed the stats that prove it. Programs that change coaches are more successful after.
Well no shite. Because most schools changing coaches fire the one that sucks and get a better coach. Our situation is much different~!

Then Florida is going to have one scary program next year.

This is where you are wrong. Parents of these recruits love Les Miles. If he leaves it will have a very negative impact on this Top 4 class. FACT
No one loves Nick Saban, and look how he gets recruits.

Now you're just trying to be stupid right?

Michigan at this point is really desperate, its a big program with loads of cash but we have completely fallen off the map since the loss to OSU in 2006.
I think Miles is a guy who could unite the fan base, recruit well, beat OSU one day, make Michigan competitive in a not so great conference, etc, etc. But really it comes down to if Miles wants to leave a great team and program to turn around his alma mater.

quote:Think about this. If Coach Miles leaves LSU, Saban (who is Alabama as you say) will simply reach deep into our state and snatch up all the loose recruits he can. The next coach would be playing catch-up to Nick. And don't forget FSU, UTenn, UF - they've got some Louisiana connections of their own.
Saban is Alabama. If he left right now they would be in deep trouble.
Don't be fooled: Les Miles is the face of recruiting for LSU.

The odds say, LSU's best chance at winning another NC in the next 5 yrs is if Miles leaves actually.
Agree.
Re: Brandon mtg w/Miles...this is not to gauge interest, its to come away with an agreement to be UM's HC. He has to deliver since he set up this mtg...i.e., all in. Anything else and he might as well pack his bags.

That's because we went from Paul Dietzel to Charlie Mac, and then to a string of bozos until Saban in 2000. It took LSU 50 something years to put together 2 good coaches back to back.

This +1000000
That is what scares me the most, along with losing the stability and clean program that CLM runs.

Not according to Dandy Don, Shea and few others..
it would hurt, but if Wilson is retained and good coach is hired, we will be fine
