It is more than that.

For one thing, they have ESPN breathing down their necks to get the LHN off the ground. They would love Saban to Texas, as the value of the network would double overnight.

Another thing is the fact that their home schedules for the foreseeable future are trash. We don't seem like we are going to jump when they clap to save them on that, so selling Nick Saban is the best way to keep season ticket holders onboard.

Honestly there is no way Powers if he had any power would go for Saban. In that respect if they end up with him it is a right place right time situation.

Don't get me wrong. The best thing to happen to A&M was to get away and separate themselves from Texas. I said after they joined the conference within 10 years (with the right coach) they would be a perennial top 10 team.
