that Crowton ends up in Chicago or at some other job this year? It would resolve the buyout issue and everyone on the LSU side would get what they want.

Nope. Miles addressed the rumors earlier today and said Crowton is staying.

Jeremy Bates was rumored to be the guy for the Bears, but with all the Carroll to Seatle rumors that might be nixed. Now it looks like Mike Martz is the favorite. FWIW I don't think Crowton was ever considered for the OC job, but as a QB coach.
