Yep. Auburn fans spent a 12 page thread trying to convince Alabama fans that Chizik was better than Miles last offseason. Only thing this proves is Arkansas fans are as bad at evaluating coaching talent as Auburn fans. Heck, Long already hired Johnelle. I'm glad hope springs eternal for you guys, but you're going to end up with Norv Turner's scroat neck.

I have pretty much been in panic mode since April 1st. After the JLS debacle, I don't know why anyone would think Long will pull a rabbit out of his hat now. The $5.5 million per year offer to Miles reeks of desperation to me. I'm afraid we'll wind up with a Mark Stoops level hire after we've had seven or so months to find the right guy.

Yes, Les and Long had a discussion about the position. They go way back, both spent time at Michigan together.

Les was never offered the job or any amount of money. This is per Les Miles and his agent. The only source that says an offer was on the table is sports by brooks.
If Jeff Long was going to make an offer, Jeff would have contacted your AD first to request permission to speak with Les then made an offer, basically things would have been conducted in the proper manner.

I don't think he was ever offered. He turned down Michigan. Do you honestly believe Long would think he would come to Arkansas.

I agree. Any smart and in demand coach will wait to see what his options are before he commits to anything.
