YEah. That Urban Meyer has been a real flop.

I think it has more to do with Miles' hiring history than it does with an anti-NonBCS sentiment.

Pelini...Crowton...Chavis... all have one thing in common: Experience as coordinator at a BCS school.

although Norm Chow would be a slam dunk hire, does anyone think this is actually a realistic possibility?

I certainly don't think it is. I give it a negative 36% chance of happenin.

Any chance we hire Riley as the head coach in waiting?

In waiting? He is about to play a game for the rose bowl. You can't make good coaches who are wanted wait. He isn't going anywhere though. He was lucky to get the osu job back as quick as he did and he always said he made a mistake by leaving. He is also a bama alumni so he might not want to anyway.

Also saw something about Ludwig, he sucks and was replaced by crowton at oregon. He is by no means the real OC at Cal. Tedford runs that show.

Yeah, Riley is a pipe dream. I believe he was born and raised in Corvalis as well.

I've just always liked him as a head coach. i think he'd do awesome at a bigger name school.

He was born in Idaho and moved to Corvallis as a kid. His dad was a coach at osu. He is a pipe dream. The guy can seriously coach and knows how to develop players. He probably does more with less than most bcs schools and is second behind SC in the pac ten with the amount of nfl players he has in the league.

eliminated Matt Canada, OC for Indiana... resume isn't great, not to mention he is from Indiana and went to school there.

also eliminated Gary Nord of Purdue... unimpressive resume, and only in 1st year at Purdue after coming from Florida Atlantic

also eliminated Oregon's OC ... what are the odds that we hire two consecutive OCs from Oregon?

not to mention Chip Kelly runs that offense.

also eliminated USC's OC... he aint going from USC to LSU.

We are now down to 19 names left... getting very close to our next OC!

Right now, my top choice out of each conference is...

ACC - Mark Whipple (Miami)

Big12 - Kevin Wilson (Oklahoma)

BigEast - Steve Kragthorpe (Louisville)

Big10 - Don Treadwell (Michigan State)

Pac10 - *hard to pick one here, there are quite a few guys in the Pac10 I like

SEC- Gus Mahlzan (Auburn)

I like Kevin wilson from Oklahoma, but if Stoops leaves, he should get the head coach at oklahoma. Don't know if he can work for miles. Miles beat Oklahoma twice under his watch.

Yeah, Whipple is easily the "fan favorite" choice right now.

I don't think we will be able to get any first/second year off. coordinators from a BCS school that is rebuilding and having success. Now that should narrow your choices down. I'm not sold on Kragthorpe.

Now, I do like the resume of Dana Holgorsen from Houston. He's done real good at Houston. Based on his talent he has. Kids play hard.

I like the Houston guy too ... I just don't think Miles will hire a guy that hasn't had success at the highest level, and I can't really blame him. It's a risk that I don't believe is necessary for LSU to take given the pressure to win in 2010.
