Kinda sorta...

The Chicago Bears have offered former Lions coach Rod Marinelli a job coaching their defensive line, according to the Chicago Tribune. He received the formal offer after Brick Haley, who filled that position in 2008, left to take a job on LSU’s staff.

I know it's somewhat of a rumor site, but they are right quite a bit.

BATON ROUGE — LSU coach Les Miles officially announced the hiring of new defensive coordinator John Chavis on purpose Monday and accidentally announced the hiring of two others — secondary coach Ron Cooper of South Carolina and defensive line coach Brick Haley of the Chicago Bears.

"Well, I enjoy experience in our conference," Miles said to a group of reporters in the LSU football facility on Monday afternoon. "It's obvious all three guys have SEC ties and the understanding of how competitive it is in this league and what you need to win that I think is very specific to this conference."

Then Miles started another sentence and realized he was talking about "three" new coaches when the plan was to just announce the hiring of Chavis on Monday.

"And I enjoy the fact that all three guys," Miles said and paused before saying "when and if we hire them."

Miles followed that with several laughs.

LSU sports information director Michael Bonnette said he expects Miles to "officially" announce his two other hires on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Haley, a former Mississippi State defensive line coach who has been with the Bears for two seasons, was spotted by reporters in the hallway near Miles' office shortly before Miles met with reporters.

Miles was asked, "What was Brick Haley doing here?"

Miles said, "Visiting friends," but none of LSU's current coaches were at any of Haley's last three coaching stops — the Bears in 2007 and 2008, Mississippi State from 2004-06 and Georgia Tech from 2002-03.

"I was there today to interview for a coaching job," Haley said Monday night in an interview on his cellular phone. "But coach Miles will be making whatever announcements that he needs to make."

Looks like CHicken can close down the coaching changes board on thursday.
