In case Crowtons stays....

1. Does Matt Flynn's senior year give us hope that he can develop in the late stages of a player's career.
2. Can we beleive in the Signs of life on offense that were shown from Oct. 1st and a few other games. (although we struggled on offense against Mcneese IMO)
3. Assume the entire staff will remain intact and BG will have another year to work with the offense.
4. safe to say we get Mett and he automatically improve the offense overnight.

I don't think Crowton had anything to do with Flynn's development or performance.

QB is 60% physical tools..30% mental ability....10% balls....
you do the appropriate math on our QB Roster

my math only adds up to 10% by using your numbers.

if he stays we have no choice but to accept it. we can bitch, whine and moan but it won't do any good. if miles doesn't fire him, my first impression will be that miles knows more about the situation than me and i will be optimistic that it will work out. my opinion is can his arse based on the results. just damn do it.

I dont think there has ever been such a popular choice by fans and media but teh staff and adminstartion goes a different direction.
I know Crowton had a bad deal in Perriloux getting kicked off the team. But we should have only had to endure an anemic offense for one year.
With that said.....I will hate the decision to keep him but i will support that and be glad in it if that is what Miles decides to do.
I do see where Crowton has potential. He has done great things with Lesser players in the past. But why him and Jefferson have choosen not develop and get better boggles me.

quote:Perriloux looked good running the offense in 07. So me just grasping at straws to come up with anything positive says if he has a better QB than JJ and JL then the offense will work like 07. Maybe JJ & JL aren't that good and we've fricked up on getting anyone after them to stick with the team. Again not my current assessment; just a grasping at straws for any sort of explanation.

Matt Flynn was ready and able to play the whole time he was here. He just had the misfortune of sitting behind a physical freak at the QB position for 4 years.

So succeeding at QB has nothing to do with play calling?
Interesting.
10% balls, but 0% playcalling.

I'm hoping that we are all in agreence in that Flynn was actually a pretty damn good QB.
He has actually done a great job in backing up Rodgers at Green Bay. And just like another poster said, he would have gotten a lot more playing time if not for the freak that was playing ahead of him.
Hell, LSU could have won back to back with Flynn in there both years.

1. No, he's had three years with these QBs, 4 with Lee, and they still play like inexperienced freshmen. Very minimal progress.
2. No. With all of the talent on offense, the odds are they would show some life during the season.
3. Yes. Plus its hard to get a read on BG, Crowton not only makes players look bad, but coaches too.
4. It will be much harder to get Mett. if Crowton stays. If we do, I don't see any kind of improvement from the offense. Whatever the offense's strength is, Crowton will find a way to turn it into a weakness. Before the season everyone was saying our WRs were the best in years, look what Crowton did to them....the 107th ranked passing attack in the country, 7 total TD passes, worst passing game in the SEC.
