Impact of Tosh Lupoi departure after last season?

Curious for Bama fans perspective on Tosh Lupoi and how big of an impact it’s had on both the defense and recruiting?
From the outside there was no denying his presence in recruiting and competing for the top guys. LSU’s success in changing the offense and getting over the hump obviously plays a role for the kids who both programs are recruiting, but how impactful is the loss of Lupoi given Bama still recruiting at a high level?
Also doesn’t seem like bama has the same kind of aggression in the front 7 or the difference maker like J. Allen, Q. Williams, etc. Do you attribute this more to injuries and youth, or was Lupoi that impactful on the front 7?

Miss his recruiting . His impact on front seven was not that great IMO. Had to be relieved of duties last year during the season . His recruiting impact was mainly felt on West Coast guys bc we still seem to be recruiting at a high level in most of our usual places

Tosh was on the staff for his recruiting prowess. He was in over his head as DC in2018.
This year's defense has been hurt by early departures to the NFL, depth entering the transfer portal, injuries in the middle of the defense, and a whole lot of recruiting misses at LB.
ETA: Would not shock me if Pruitt adds Lupoi to the UT staff.

Would be big for Pruitt if he can pull him to TN. Haven’t seen how he’s done with the Browns.

There's no real way of knowing if Lupoi was in over his head as DC b/c Saban took away his play calling duties during the season, gave those duties to Golding, and the defense looks just a little bit better this season under Golding and that might be because Terrell Lewis and Diggs are back and Jennings is healthy.

Don't think he's been able to pick up the defense.
But these players at LB/ DE have all tranfered out for one reason or another :
Antonio Alfano- Colorado
Eyabi Anoma- Houston
Shawn Burgess Becker- UCF
Christian Bell- Wisconsin
VanDarius Cowan- W. Virginia
Mekhi Brown- MTSU
Shawn Jennings- S. Alabama
Adonis Thomas- FSU
Cowan was dismissed from the team, Anoma was dismissed from the University, and Alfano just quit, the rest tranfered because they were down on the depth chart. That's a ton of misses at one position over multiple LB coaches.
