I'm hoping we consider these two guys for ST's Coordinator.

First is Joe Lorig. Special Teams coordinator for Memphis, who have the best ST's in the country. He's also coached LB/DB's and had success as a defensive coordinator.
Next is John Wozniak. He's at Southern Miss and they had the 19th ranked S&P special teams rating.
Wozniak would also be a offensive assistant. Currently also coaches receivers and has had success coaching several positions as well. Played QB in college, has coached receivers, TE's, and RB's.
He was a graduate assistant under Miles at OSU and LSU. Also was a quality control staffer in 2007 at LSU. Spent some time as an analyst in 2012 for Bama and has mainly coached in the south, with a fairly progressive coaching career.

Solid guys, but we have a huge gap in TX recruiting right now and we must consider this. Unless we hire another position coach next year with east TX/Houston ties, our ST coach will have to have those ties.

I can see that, but finding someone like that who is also a top ST coordinator isn't easy.
We've pulled plenty of guys before without having direct ties to the school/area.
These days it's less about recruiting connections and more about a coaches ability and personality that attracts players

I saw Jeff Traylor, the UTx ST position coach and recruiter, mentioned for the job after Strong was fired. Traylor was a member of the Texas state high school football coaching fraternity for over a decade.

Disagree with you, and so does every top SEC school that has multiple area specialists on staff: (Burton Burns New Orleans, D. Craig Mobile, BDP TX, Raymond FL). Why do you think Juluke has a job? It's not because of his RB teaching skills.

Traylor is an option for sure, would be SHOCKED if he is not considered/targeted.

I understand where you are coming from. On the flip side of that a staff has to have a good mix of "recruiters" and "coaches". For a while now I think we have been sorely lacking on the coaching part. Now if we can get a coach better tha the two mentioned who can SUCCESSFULLY recruit Texas fine. But I hope the days of hiring an entire staff to recruit and not really coach are over. Of course, with our Coordinators I think we are sitting pretty on the IQ scale.

Texas had the 69th ranked special teams in the country for S&P+, ours was 48th.
So that seems like a downgrade there and Peveto was a better recruiter with more connections in Texas.

I wish we could get Thomas McGaughey back. LSU special teams was a major weapon when he was here. He also was a great recruiter with connections in Louisiana and Texas.

phil
do you think such a post helps LSU?
