Did you hear Miles talking in the booth at the Michigan game the other week?

How is Herman the best after losing to Memphis

You don't fire Les to hire O. The last few years were tough but Les was really good here for a long time, including kicking O's arse three times. Wanna make a change? Fine but this is change for the sake of change. There is no strategy here

Herman wasn't coming for 6 million. That was stage 1. Were not outbidding Texas regardless.

Maybe.

If the story was that Alleva made a firm offer and Herman countered, with Alleva balking, then Alleva is a bungling fool.

If Alleva agreed to the counter and then Herman countered a second time ... so be it, the man is playing games. THEN you pull out, IMO.

We fricked Herman if anything. He was using us for more money from UT.

It's reasonable to think Joe saw the writing on the wall and decided to give him a parting frick you by ignoring their offer. $6 mil is still a lot of money, though, so I doubt Herman cares.

Joe made his own bed through some weak negotiating positions. I guess he figured he was playing with house money with O in his back pocket.

Say that last bit to yourself again and try to keep from laughing.

This is the part that makes me worry. Les really had to go after he refused to change with a gun to his head, but this kind of move is also what put Tennessee and Texas where they are right now.

If you know you can't afford a $6 million coach, then why only interview 2 coaches, both of whom will command $6 million?
