I see it that way.Thought they had Harbaugh in the bag and now that they don't are hedging their bets in case no one that resonates with the fanbase is available.Either way unless they get harbaugh or someone great out of left field it's bad for Michigan.They're not getting Les.

That AD will have to hire fricking Blackwater if he keeps RR. Their fanbase will revolt.
They must have a list longer than Miles, Harbaugh, and Hoke. They will get someone on their list, IMO.

Maybe they want/have a certain coach with a bowl game this Friday?
Letting the RR drama go on without publicly firing him is the easiest way for the Michigan AD to avoid speculation about naming a new coach, which could in turn screw their chances at Les Miles... or they could just be keeping it quiet to let Les do his thing. I don't know anything for fact... but as long as they "claim" RR is their HC, then they don't have to answer as to who his replacement will be.
