Classic, can't close on house when he ain't around and now a contract sitting on his desk because he ain't around to sign it!

First off the contract would be sitting on Jimmy Sexton's desk and that is a fact.

Last week, it was big news the gumps wanted everyone to know, he has an extension he was about to sign and this whole thing was a joke.

Nothing was ever confirmed though...

They're cooking up a clone of him in a secret lab so he can coach Texas too.

He existentially gone.

I love these gumps saying its because he has been "on the road"

If the guy wanted to sign the contract, they would have arranged for it quickly.. to shut everybody up

It aint happenin though

Already under contract until 2020 so whats the fricking rush?

What's the rush? Because if indeed he has no intentions of going to Texas, he's losing valuable negotiating time to bleed Bama out of every last cent that he can. If Texas moves on, his negotiation platform goes kaput.

His seemingly relaxed position as to what's transpiring should worry the hell out of gump fans. Acting like everything is already in place for something.

Or Talabama. Sounds a lot like 'Taliban,' so people can hate uninterrupted.

He can just negotiate further after he wins another couple of NCs

Saban has gotten his fanbase and the media to focus not on the recent loss to AU, but on his future. Bama fans are crapping their pants right now and are begging him to stay, not crying to Finebaum about the loss.

This weekend he has a huge class of mostly five star recruits visiting Bama, and he will probably sign the deal with Bama, with them on campus, making himself the highest paid coach in NCAA football history.

The dead period starts Monday, and he will have gotten the last word and showed recruits what a big deal he is.

Genius move. And it cost him nothing.

Lets take a step back and analyze. Saban is very methodical. He doesn't make hasty decisions. He is also very smart so he definitely could be using the Texas interest as leverage. He needs to figure out his 5 year plan. I think he also realizes that this will be his last flirtation in his career. In the past he has been bored in one place too long. However he has a monster running on all cylinders at bama. Texas could be interesting bc they are the only school he would consider jumping to at this point in his career. It's like dating a great girl. No matter how awesome she is there is always the allure of the next best thing. He just needs to weight his priorities and decide. Neither decision will be a bad one.

He also has gotten another fanbase so butthurt and scared, that they are pathetically, and maniacally hoping for his departure.

Sad, really.

So he's going to forego money that he can get in the present, money that they are ready to give him today, for.....what? No reason?

You can't even believe that yourself.
