Jack Del Rio would be the perfect fit here...HE IS ALL LSU and would take a lot less than 4 million to come here

Not trying to be a dick, but what the the hell has del rio ever done to make so many fans want him. I have heard his name for years, and just have no idea why.

he is a very good coach...remember this..usc fans had the same attitude about pete carroll..some of you tend to think that if a coach doesnt have 5 superbowl rings or 5 BCSNC rings that he is a waste of time...why is it so important to have the BIG NAME coach..les wasnt a BIG NAME..saban wasnt a BIG NAME..both of these coaches made a name for themselve when they moved to BATON ROUGE....how many BCSNC rings did urban meyer have prior to the florida gig? .. none..

del rio is a long term NFL coach which is a huge selling point. He was an NFL Defensive Coordinator so he obv knows his X and Os. I am not worried about Del Rio recruiting. Being an NFL head coach he knows nfl defensive and what it would take for a kid to make it in the NFL. I would think that would be a huge recruiting tool.

Del Rio would be a good recruiter but would need a great offensive mind to help. He would be able to put together a great staff

And furthermore, that 65-63 record with one of the worst franchises in the NFL is in all actuality a better resume than either Saban or Miles had prior to being hired by LSU.

But don't let that misdirect you.

long time NFL coach.

How about getting a long time SUCCESSFUL NFL coach? His teams have never done anything in the playoffs. Hire the resume and his resume is weak. Just a little better than Wannstadt.

He is an ok NFL coach, which has no bearing on how he would do in college, but this would be the third Hire I can remember where his name came up. He always "loves" LSU, and has these supposed ties to BR, but has never even interviewed to my knowlege.

Some of you guys are idiots i bring up del rio because he may be one of the guys that would take the job. Sorry but gruden or Saban ain't coming. I'm throwing a name out there that may want to make the move due to his current status or situation. Some of you guys may want to lower your expectations a little

I know, that doesn't mean LSU should have any interest in him though.
