If LSU hires an OC before the bowl game, does he coach in the bowl?

Or would it be Ensminger in the bowl, and then the new OC takes over after?

I'm assuming it would be Ensminger since it would be difficult to get a new system in place in such a small time frame. Anyone know for sure?

I would bet Ensminger. The new offense will go in over the Spring.

If they do make an early hire, whoever it is will likely hit the road recruiting while the team finished up. If they are a part of the on-field staff, they can hit the recruiting trail day one. There is no rule saying they have to coach a meaningless game.

He would likely be at bowl practices (assuming he doesn't have a current job where he coaches through their bowl game) if nothing else other than to observe the players and see what he's working with.

Coach O is going to try to get Lane Kiffin. That's the guy he wants.

Kiffin will be coaching Alabama in the playoffs. So no, he won't be around for our bowl prep or game.

Unless, he hires Sark. Sark is currently working as a consultant for Bama. Sark could come to practice and assist.

But we're not putting a new system in until after the bowl game.

Absolutely, the new OC should coach the bowl game. There are extra practices involved and you want to start working with your players sooner, not later. You don't have to change the LSU offense now, the OC can adapt until putting his system in place in the spring.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Lou Tepper coach a bowl game right when he was hired and the proceed to run LSU into the ground the next two seasons? (98-99)

Yes and Bebe said we'll be running spread, so only a few weeks to prepare.

Ensminger would coach the bowl game as OC...If its Kiffen, no way in hell Saban allows him to coach in the playoffs!

Sark is Bama's OC next year. That's why he was brought in. Everyone knows this.
