I'd kinda like to see how productive his offense is w/o Newton.
Exactly.

His numbers have been posted multiple times.

Holy shite you have the google function don't you? Tulsa, Auburn in his first year. His offenses have been top in the conference and among the best in the nation ever year.

Can't imagine him being higher than GP and a couple others.

Bertman has been quoted as saying that LSU would not pay national championship money for an unproven coach (and that was in regard to someone with a head coaching resume).

Of course not. But he would certainly be on the shortlist I would imagine.

Bertman has nothing to do with it anymore. Now that is still likely the case but not because Bertman said it.

you are correct..Patterson is the prime target...BUT no way we get caught with our pants down in not getting our top guy and being left in the lurch...

Like I keep saying, timing is a real problem. A drawn out scenario with a guy like Patterson or anyone for that matter is unacceptable because it's so late.

No. The offer was for ~1.3 Mill with performance raises up to 3 mill.

I wouldn't be so sure...isn't he still employed by TAF?

I guarantee Alleva will be on the phone with Skip discussing the next HC, at the least...

We are in Bama's position after they fired Shula...albeit not by choice.

Maybe Alleva will back the truck up to Patterson and beg and plead until he signs...worked for Bama to get Saban.

I really feel like it's gonna be Pelini and it makes me nauseous every time I type it. Hell, Foley had plenty of time and he just ended up with Muschamp. Kind of a dud (but worlds better than Pelini).

If it resulted in landing Patterson it'd be worth it. Alleva is still gonna try and keep LM ar which may take awhile and that's after he eventually interviews etc. Nothings gonna get done anytime soon imo

If Alleva succeeds in keeping Les the morons will come out of the woodwork saying we overpaid.

We have a guaranteed winner now. I don't want to gamble on a replacement so late in the year that might set us back for years.

look at GUS's offense prior to this year. Cam Newton helps yea, but his offense is legit with or without Cam

1) Gary Patterson- Probably won't get him. Even though he should be our top candidate, I don't know if I really want him because if he has success here it won't be long until the NFL comes calling.

2) Dan Mullen- The coach I hope we get. He is a great offensive coach and he can recruit. Most importantly, he is a nice guy.

3) Gus Malzahn- See above, except I think he's even better of an offensive coach. He's young and will never be an NFL coach most likely so he could be here for a long, long time if hired.

I don't want anyone else.
