to replace Wade Phillips with Les Miles in January, who would be a reasonable hire for LSU?

I know this sounds nuts, but think about it: Jerry, ever since JJ departed, likes his puppets. Who would have thought Barry Switzer would be the head coach of the Cowboys? Dave Campo? Chan Gailey? Granted, he hired Parcells but clearly a strong presence grated on him if you read his post Parcells comments.

Meanwhile you've got Leslie, who used to work for him, and some accounts say Jerry's looking for a bargain, that he overextended himself building the Cow Palace, and he might not want to pay Shanahan or Cowher. It's unlikely, I grant you, but Jerry Jones has done dumber things...

If he wanted a bargain puppet, why wouldn't he keep the one he has now?

Why would he fire Switzer, who was a puppet, and replace him with Gailey, who was a puppet, and fire Gailey and replace him with another puppet in Campo?

If he feels the need to make a change, whether the next coach is substantially the same in quality and demeanor won't mean much to Jerry, based on past performance, will it?

Jones was very flattering when Miles got the Okie State job. Scroll down and read the comments from the Cowboys organization. Doesn't mean he's really interested in hiring him, just that they have some history.

He didn't. Switzer resigned.

Gailey sucked.

Campo sucked even worse.

Phillips is at least got them to the playoffs once, even though they seem to be getting worse the longer he goes.

In addition, I believe his No. 1 asset is his character. He is a first-class person who treats his players and associates with class and integrity. I have no doubt that he will do an excellent job as a head coach at Oklahoma State, and we will miss him and his contributions to the Dallas Cowboys."

That's interesting.

JJ, Aikman and David Lafleur all put out phony statements about Miles being awesome when we hired him too.

Doesn't all of this seem to support my point that with Jones's track record, he might very well hire Miles despite the idea being a joke to others?

My point is not about whether he will fire Phillips, or how Switzer left. The point is he follows his own dubious judgment on this stuff and nobody is going to tell him different.

I'm just gonna keep saying it till it happens:

1.) Les is not a control freak...I'm actually not even sure what he coaches since we blame coordinators and position coaches every year.

2.) He has almost the same resume as Jimmy Johnson when Jerry hired him.

JJ = Ok St. 29-25-3
Les = Ok St. 28-21

JJ = Miami 52-9 (1 MNC)
Les = LSU 51-14 (1 MNC)

3.)Used to coach tight ends for the Cowboys. Jerry says he has a lot of respect for him.

4.) Jerry can frick LSU and help his beloved Ar-kansas with a January hire.

- So basically Miles has the personality that Jerry loves for his coaches to have, the same track record as one of his previous and most succesful hires, and a personal relationship with Jerry Jones. I would say it's very possible.

Saban and Petrino choices are no more than wishful thinking.

Gary Patterson at TCU is one of the top 5 or 8 coaches in America; back-to-back undefeated seasons at TCU. Great hire.

Jack Del Rio might also be wishful thinking, but I think he would be a homerun type of hire.

As great a scenario as this, I don't see it happening.

Maybe just maybe they do respect him as a person and he communicates around the tv much much better than when he is picking and choosing words in the media? I mean when hes pissed off hes pretty clear to understand just ask Tracy Wolfson

A scenario I have been hoping for all year. No doubt the Cowgirls are looking for a coach - while not Miles. I just hope Jerry didn't watch the Ole Piss game this year.

Garret WAS his next puppet, based off how much stinking money he makes as a coordinator in the league, but he fricked that up this year as the offense has struggled, and is getting alot of flak for from the public and media for how poorly they are developing as the year goes on. He may very well be on the way out with Wade
