You'd rather what LSU had been running under Miles, that works in the SEC?
Please enlighten me to all these finesse spread teams winning sec titles. Yes auburn and florida were spread teams but they ran power spread offenses with 2 of the greatest qbs in sec history.
Florida and auburn still had huge olines and ran power run games. Kelly does not. You can not finesse your way through the sec.

Not a whole lot of teams winning in the SEC title right now outside of one.

Of the last 4 programs to win the sec none of them relied on finesse in the run game.
ETA: you cant finesse your way through the most defensive talent rich division and conf in the country.
Oregon was successful in the pac 12 because the teams they faced didn't have the defensive depth to match oregon's pace.

If you keep typing it enough, it must be true

Im using sec results. Where are all these successful sec programs with finesse run games.

I don't think finding mismatches in the running game is finesse.
I think it's a lazy label.
Do I want Chip Kelly? No. I'm wary of his recruiting tactics and ability. But I'm not going to disservice his offensive coaching ability.

Not even close, really? Kelly has proven himself at the college level. He would dominate at LSU.

He would have access to superior talent than what he had at Oregon. Some of you act as if he's bringing those Oregon teams to the SEC.

Did it occur to you that Kelly ran a "finesse"
offense because of the conference he played in?
I'm sure he would adapt to the SEC, he's not an idiot. Also, what makes Kelly's offense finesse and not Herman's?

When you recruit smaller olineman, dont run between the tackles, and dont stress wrs blocking, its a finesse run game. His idea of mismatch was running plays faster than the defense could sub.
Last time i checked there were multiple sec defenses that are sideline to sideline teams.
Also, i never said Kelly couldnt be successful. You asked what makes his run game philosophy finesse.

I am not opining for Kelly here but these are the facts regarding his Oregon resume;
"Kelly, of course, launched Oregon onto the national stage. The Ducks played in a BCS bowl game in all four of his seasons as coach and lost the national title game in 2010. Oregon went 46-7 under Kelly from 2009-2012."

Has it occurred to you he is running the same plays in the nfl?
chip kelly's nfl offense
From the above article....

This actually shouldn't come as a surprise to those who know Kelly's system well. While a coach at the University of Oregon, Kelly gave a talk on his offense at a coaching clinic and explained that his running game - the key to his offense - has just four plays.
He runs the same running plays over and over.

I mean Kelly has the robust resume you're looking for. Those Oregon offenses struck fear into people's hearts. Then look what happened when he left. They're a laughingstock now.
I like Herman and would be elated if he became the HC, but I don't know how Kelly is an inferior choice to him somehow.

Kelly doesnt like too recruit.
He isnt known as a great recruiter.
Some of you act like schools recruit themselves when we have 40 years of modern cfb that prove otherwise

And lost every game he played against the sec. I dont care what he did in the pac 12. No finesse spread team is going to consistently win or be really successful in the sec. The sec has too much dline talent to run 4 running plays over and over and consistently win the sec. I think kelly would be successful for sure but in no way could he have the amount of success he had at oregon.

That's exactly what Kelly's offense aims to defeat first and foremost: the defense line. He focusses on wearing them out by going no huddle so they can't substitute and runs them sideline to sideline... You guys do realize this is exactly what Herman runs right? Except Kelly has proven himself over time. He's a LOCK to have great success. That's why I'd choose him over Herman even though I'd be very happy with Herman as well.

He runs a version of that same finesse offense in the NFl. He runs hurry up all the time which puts added pressure on your defense and doesn't waste clock when you need to at the end of games.
Herman runs power spread, same as Ohio St. and Clemson and Bama does now sometimes with Hurts at Qb
Florida with Meyer and Auburn run more power spread option. Sumlin came to Sec running finesse air raid and without Manziel and against LSU his offenses were bad

I think this is overstated. He got the athletes he needed to run his system at a high level.
You can identify assistants that can recruit. It's just a matter of paying them. Great football minds aren't as readily available.
