If Canada is gone, would you give Sumlin a call?

His offenses were never the issue. He's been recruiting Texas, LA, surrounding areas. Knows the SEC now. I think him + Aranda would be a killer duo.

His offense is the reason his defense sucks. Practice against basketball offense play like a basketball defense. No thanks.

A&M’s offense was 76th in total yards this year. It’s been pretty average/below average the last couple years

Sumlin hit jackpot with the Manziel/Kingsbury combo and rode that wave as long as he could

I don't think Sumlins ever been an offensive guru, despite his teams always running a high octane spread. He's only been a full time OC for like 2-3 years and I think the results were a mixed bag

He's mostly a recruiter than an OC

I think its hard for a head coach to accept a "lesser" position unless they are going to from College to the NFL. Its an ego thing. Do you really think sumlin would take any sort of direction from Coach O?

There are countless and countless examples of head coaches getting sacked and taking coordinator jobs for a few years to build their name back up

Yes, I'd call him to come get Jeff Grimes when he's named the new Head Coach at Prairie View.

PV just right down the road from A&M, so he could probably stay in the same house and keep the same pool boy.

No way Sumlin is LSU OC worthy.

That's funny how the thought was even formulated in a Rant geeks brain and then proceed all the way down the line to eventually make it on here as a thread.
