I don't see gimmicks and tricks at all. I see some use of misdirection at times, but it's not like they rely on it as their offense.
Agreed. And he does run a fair amount of misdirection, which is great.

Both Grimes and Briles run trick plays almost every game. This board has real issues with such but in real life it has a purpose and in both their offenses works in the overall framework of what they are trying to do.

Many will never get over the fact that trick plays are not supposed to be homerun plays (in these style modern offenses), they are setup plays. Same for Canada by the way. So many freak out when a reverse only goes for 3 yds. but 2 plays later the S bites on the same motion and you hit the TE slipping out into the seam for a 20 yd gain on 3rd down and 8.

Both Grimes and Briles use their trick plays just for that- to move people around.

I believe that the only gig that Kendal Briles will take is a head coaching position. You won't get Briles

Your his 5th school since 2016. Why would you believe that?

Who’s your last coordinator that got a HCing job? How much you paying him?

Oh, I see you knew nothing about him.

Carry on. Have an uneducated opinion as the first response in a thread.

Garrick McGee is the answer I think (under Petrino before he hired his brother Paul). Went to UAB if I remember right. Btw, QB coach at UF currently. Probably not for long.

What is his connection to Kelly?

Again y’all are thinking like this is Coach O, where there has to be a connection. The connection is they want to be the best.

I wouldn't be opposed to Grimes.

2019 2nd year 28th total offense, 67th scoring offense
2020 3rd year 6th total offense, 3rd scoring offense
2021 4th year (new school) 26th total offense, 30th scoring offense

Plus he has great OL play. OL only allowed 12 sacks in 12 games at BYU in 2020 and only allowed 12 sacks in 12 games this year at Baylor.

In all honesty after doing more research on him, I would love for him to come back to LSU. Throw out the old HC to OC talk. My top 3 are Kevin Wilson, Jeff Grimes, and Jeff Lebby. I would be 1000% happy with either of the 3.
