in all of this and makes Miles out to be some poor sap sitting in the corner waiting on his fate to be decided.

Get real. THis is a contract negotiation between Miles attorney/agent and LSU. Miles can't have his cake and eat it too. You can't get paid 3.5 million a year and not be in a highly critical position. YOu can't be the king and the pal.

Some of you say he just wants appreciation. No, he wants security. The same thing all of us would be asking fo rin his position.

LSU wants to save money and not give a long term contract. Miles wants money and a long term deal. It will meet in the middle if both are cooperative and are happy with each other. If not, he goes. pretty simple.

Exactly. I could get fired tomorrow, regardless of how good a job I'm doing. If the budget gets cut, I get cut.

Miles has to take A LOT of our shite on a daily basis, but the dude is a multi-millionaire with serious money in the bank. If he quit working tomorrow, he would be set for life regardless of what happens with LSU/Michigan.

Then why not stop working?

Miles is not just looking out for himself. He has kids too. Why not make them set for life?

he's not looking for security, he's looking for assurances that he can run the program how he feels it should be run without getting his legs cut out from under him by the administration (and pressure from insiders).

This. Not everyone is in love with Miles at the top of the food chain, but many do really like the man. He wants assurances.

Then there are lot of JCs and high schools that would love to have him. Get real. What top college football program, especially in the currently most successful conference is that a possibility?

I like Miles, and if he goes to Michigan, I wish him well, but that thought process if kind of stupid IMO.
