I have always liked Larry Fedora since 2001 LSU-Middle Tenn. game

Fedora was OC for Middle Tenn when they ripped Saban's defense all night. I was very impressed with the versatility of their offense, and the play-calling. Our defense was on its heels most of the night. Here are the game stats (Middle Tenn is the first column):

From Wikipedia, Fedora's comments on taking the North Carolina job:
He was formally introduced as UNC's 34th full-time head coach on December 9.[10] He promised to implement an aggressive, attacking philosophy on both sides of the ball, with the same wide-open spread offense he implemented at Southern Miss and a blitz-heavy defense. He summed up his philosophy with a quote from George S. Patton—"Instead of waiting to see what might develop, attack constantly, vigorously and viciously. Never let up, never stop, always attack." He vowed that Tar Heel football would be known for "playing smart, playing fast, and playing physical." (sounds as aggressive as Aranda)
I've tried to research Fedora's recruiting at NC - if some of you want to see it I'll post it separately, but this is long already.

I like Fedora too. He was my top choice when Gus was looking like he would be fired in week 3.

I said from the beginning that he's who we'll end-up with, and that's not a bad thing. I think we get him bc the people in charge of making the hire don't have what it takes to fend off Texas and/or Oregon for Herman or to lure Jimbo home. He'd do very well here, but it may take a year or two for him to really he going.
