I can’t ever remember a time when so many coaches told MAJOR programs

Let me think about it. I’ll let you know. What world are we living in today. I mean mid major coaches are telling top 10 programs, “let me think about it”. What?!

NIL, playoffs and portal have changed the game.

Protecting the HS recruiting class is both less important and less tied to the HC than ever before.

we just have too much information.

how often do coaches leave before the season is over?

Jimbo to A&M I guess but that season sucked. If On was 5-6 Kiffin would
be gone by now

Everyone waiting for the first domino (kiffin) to fall. Then I think everyone else falls into place.

If im making over a million coaching at a mid major school and the Alumni, donors, admin and fans are happy with a winning seasons and every now and then putting together an awesome 10 win season, why would I want to subject myself to a place where it's win it all or in 2 years you're out and the fans want you fired for a single loss and on top of that, the damn Governor gets involved in the Athletic Directors job. Thanks but no thanks, I'm content where Im at.

Or…win it all and then you’re out in 2 years, anyway. That’s how LSU rolls.

Less about this and more about schools just matching salary offers.

In the past, a school like Ole Miss wouldn't give a coach the highest contract in the country. They will now.

I think NIL/portal/playoff does contribute to this in a way, in that programs feel like they're actually competing for a natty, whether they really are or not.

College football is starting to churn through coaches like the nfl. They’re having to be more selective about what jobs they take
