Petrino and Bert

Yeah those guys are on the same level as Nick Saban and Urban Meyer.

Yea but for those 2 there are plenty of others. Also, I'd take an assistant from somewhere. I'd be happy with Kirby TBH.

Tier 3, yet O'brien is Tier 2?

O'Brien took over Penn State in the midst of a program crisis. He was deprived of scholarships and limited in terms of roster talent once you evaluate all of the departures.

His success there, no modest, is not to be understated.

Plus, he has operated as a head coach in the NFL and has been a member of Belichick's staff.

He is light years ahead of Herman in terms of his resume.

I'm not buying the Dabo hype personally. He's done well, this is true but his defenses are no muy bueno year in year out.

His lack of defensive success at times is more of a direct result of Venables, in my opinion.

I have never been a big fan of Dabo, but if he finishes this regular season undefeated then my opinion of him will change greatly.

Then again, he has benefited greatly from a down Miami program and overall mediocre ACC.

However, he is great at attracting top flight talent and has put a number of players in the NFL.

Dabo isn't leaving Clemson for LSU.

You might be right. Perhaps, Alabama is the only job he would leave for.

Still, you can't deny the fact that LSU is a notch above Clemson in terms of program reputation.

Chip Kelly may win the NFCE this year.

He just as easily might lose it. That division is wacky this year Eagles fans are vicious. Who knows how much longer he wants to deal with that bullshite.

Mark Dantonio has zero ties to LSU and a (heart?) condition.

Saban had zero ties to LSU as well. Dantonio is an interesting candidate because he was one of Saban's understudies.

Urban Meyer also has a heart condition, at least according to his family. Yet, that didn't stop Ohio State from calling him as soon as Tressel got the boot.

Gundy really hasn't done much without extremely good OCs.

Who is to say that Gundy wasn't just as responsible for the program's success?

Holgorsen has been unimpressive at West Virginia. Monken is finally achieving some degree of success at Southern Miss, but Fedora is the only one I really like.

Bill O'Brien

He's a gamble, but his resume is pretty damn impressive.

Of everyone on your tier one and tier two list this is your most likely hire. He'd crawl to BR for the job, he'd recruit really well, and he'd win. Also, he's young enough to be there for 10+ years. Would be a very solid hire.

David Shaw would be ideal in my opinion. I love the guy. He could match Saban.
