for some reason, I could see that happening. don't really know the culture at Vandy and how'd he'd fit in from that standpoint, but from a football perspective I think it'd work.

what say you?

They might score a few more points, and win a few more games, but it's still Vandy.

They don't have the same calibur athletes as UF, UGA, etc.

He might could get them to a bowl game or two.

I hope he don't come to the SEC unless it's with us!

Wouldn't work. How can you have sustained success at a school that doesn't even have an athletic department? I agree with a prior poster but Vandy is a terrible job & will never be a solid program because of academics, no commitment to football, lack of talent, terrible facilities, and on and on and on.

Vandy may never be a solid program, but not because of athletics. It is because of 1) lack of investment into football and 2) shitty high school talent in TN

Couldn't you have said that about Texas Tech though? I mean Vandy has Jamie Winborn, Jay Cutler, Earl Bennette, Marcus Buggs, Hunter Hillenmeyer, Todd Yoder and D.J. Moore in the NFL right now so you can't say they never have talent.
I don't know if it would happen, but I could see Leach having "potential" to make Vandy what Kentucky was under Hal Mumme.

I don't know if he could or would even have to do that. Vandy is the school that has a successful season if they become bowl eligible. I think he could get them 6 to 7 wins every three to four years though.

What is the difference b/t TTech and Vandy? I think Leach would do well anywhere he lands. WV would be a perfect fit. imo

Vandy gets HUGE checks from the SEC in football and basketball, but they spend the money on academics not athletics. While I wont call this move good or bad, they will not compete in athletics until the thought process changes and I don't think they want it to. It is what it is.

At Vandy, Leach would have much less talent to work with than he did at Texas Tech--can't understand why he'd want to go there.

Too bad it was Hal Mumme calling everything at UK. Leach can't get a job in FBS FCS D2 or NAIA right now, nobody will even consider hiring him until he owns up for being stupid.

What he did wasn't even a huge deal IMO. Nick Saban hit the frick out of McCarron and nobody made a big deal out of it.

What part of suing his employer, over stepping scope of authority, or lying to his employer isn't that big of a deal? Bitch all you want, but Gerald Myers made sure he had iron clad case for firing even before they used at will clause.

He has now tried to get ESPN for slander, he has no shot to get anywhere with that.

Do you blame him? ESPN ruined his public image. Nick Saban beats the shite out of his players on live television and nobody speaks a word about it

It was unfair IMO. He deserved criticism.. but holy shite, not like that. He made the kids daddy mad and the dude made it personal on live television. Daddy was mad that his kid wasn't getting playing time and used his status as an ESPN analyst to bring him down.

ESPN reported facts of case as outlined by firing he himself ruined his image. Don't take hatred or bias to ESPN for this, look at filings by Leach and the response by Tech. He added ESPN late after he was hired by Columbia Broadcasting.

"according to the information given to me, no additional risks or harm were imposed on Adam by what he was asked to do."
-Dr. Micheal Phy

It's pretty obvious that as Leach believes.. Tech just didn't want to pay him the competitive price he was worth. James wanted Leach out too due to personal reasons and it escalated from there.

Leach made some mistakes.. but his biggest one was messing with someone with a national audience. He's right in attempting to sue ESPN for slander IMO. I doubt he'll win but they did unfairly tarnish his reputation in a major way.
