Would be a demotion in title only and he could continue hitching his wagon to the Lane-Train
Money is apparently not an issue in the Lane-era (ie we could still pay him as if he was RB coach) and he'd still have all of the on-field coaching privileges based on the current rules in place.

In my opinion Kevin Smith won’t do it and he shouldn’t. Frank will have to. If you trust Lane to be our coach then we should trust him. He is one of the best offensive minds in the country. Trust him

Ranters are such retards. Last week Frank was the second coming of assistant coaches. Now he’s a bad coach. Perfect

Can you not just make him assistant rb coach / Offensive coordinator or some bullshite ?

Look objectively at Frank. Our running back rotations and development haven’t been great recently. Players get the hot hand and disappear during games. We don’t have a single high school running back committed for the 2026 class. I definitely think we should do all we can within reason to keep Frank.

He’s not a good position coach, I don’t know what to tell ya

Why not move Smith to an analyst and give Frank the RB coach on-field title? I dont know how Smith is as a recruiter but I'd prefer Frank's Nola connections and Analysts can now coach on-field, just cant recruit
It’s still viewed as a lesser position. He’s not coming from Ole Miss with a better track record to be an analyst.
