How much does the transfer portal help Mel Tucker’s chances?

Tucker is not my first or even fifth choice although that could change if MSU wins some big games in the coming weeks. And it’s worth noting that he is credited for dominating the transfer portal to make MSU much better in a short amount of time. Do we value the transfer portal so much that we actually NEED Tucker?

Would a big transfer haul turn us around like it appears to be doing for MSU?

Today I learned that Tucker is the only coach who knows how to use the transfer portal.

I never implied that at all, but how did he do much better than anyone else at it? It’s worth a thought.

He got a lot of transfers and then beat a bunch of Little Sisters of the Poor. Let’s pump the breaks on his dominance of anything until he beats a team with a winning record.

Tell me he did good in a few weeks. They are going to get throttled.

I legit would rather this than Dabo who is still resisting the concept of the transfer portal entirely.

It’s 9:30 am where I’m at and I’ve already seen someone say we should give Napier the HC job bc Bama might want him and you say we should hire Tucker over Dabo if given the chance.

Might be a day to take a break from the boards.

We’ll see. Michigan tends to choke around this time of year. MSU has every chance to win Sat. Beyond that maybe they do.

Napier is also using the portal well, and I think he is a better overall candidate than Tucker

Exactly.

He is being ridiculously overhyped without any real success whatsoever.

Dabo would still pull in better talent, IMO.

I also think he will realize he has to adapt.
