Actually like Petersen it was his to lose but unlike Petersen he sandbagged the interview. Washington AD went in wanting him and left confused. No offers made while at Tech.

ML is one of the great offensive minds in college football. He also can win consistently at a high level with low level talent.
I have always loved watching his teams play.
That being said, he's extremely eccentric. He is just down right goofy. He's very abrasive with the press and people that piss him off. I just love the way he tells people what he thinks. All of which make him enjoyable for me to watch.
His book is a very good read. The section on bringing KY to play at tiger stadium almost killed me. I've never laughed so hard. It's a must read for SEC fans.
I would have loved to see him at LSU as OC after TT fired him.

I don't PAC 12 has a better tv contract - lots are spending on coaches
