How does Lane keep getting these Jobs?

WTF are all of these teams thinking? He was an assistant college coach, then failed NFL coach, then UT hires him (which I thought was a reach for them) and now USC?
How does he keep getting these gigs? What has he done? I guess the package deal with pops

Al Davis is super not logical and possibly senile.
Tennessee was...I don't know what they were thinking. Trying to make a splash? Hire the anti-Fullmer?
USC made a knee-jerk move trying to save their recruiting class and get a coach in as quickly as possible. It sounds like they'd been rejected by Del Rio, Riley, and Peterson, and Sarkasian wasn't interested.
He's got nothing to assert that he'll be a success, and he's not going to get another head coaching job for a while after screwing Tennessee. He better succeed at USC.
Barring huge sanctions, he'll still have better players than the opposing teams in most ever game. He probably will do fine for a few years because of that then head back to the NFL.

UT was desparate and needed a change. kiffin sold them on his pro experience was distorted because of crazy al davis and that he would put together a team that could recruit nationally. and he did. they actually were pretty good coaches also. monte is a very good D coach and kiffin himself is a pretty fair O coach. now, usc comes knocking but kiffin was probably 3rd or 4th on their list. others turned it down. but they are desparate because signing day is only about 2 and 1/2 wks away.kiffin didn't turn it down because he sees it as a triumphant return to socal and didn't properly assess the ncaa issues. by his dad going with him and orgeron (his recruiting tool) too, i actually think usc will be a better team than last year. the sob has got to be the luckiest guy on the planet. having his dad with him is a huge part of teams giving him a chance.

riley, del rio and sark all said, "No thanks. I'm good."

Apparently, they contacted Petersen yesterday:

I'm guessing that means they got a no there, too.

You know something is coming down at USC. When have they been turned down by 5 different coaches? Thats the media darling program of the nation, along with Notre Dame.

other schools, not just the big boys, are really stepping up and paying coaches
so you can make REALLY good money at a mid level school in a bcs conference with less pressure
