Supposedly FSU is waiting for him to to be let go so they don't have to pay the buyout. I love the idea because he knows Briles system and can quickly install it to the OL, but as far as strictly developing OLs what do ya'll think?

Houston had a mediocre to poor OL this last year. Seems like it would be a huge risk for FSU IMO.

Agreed. But our OL was so bad we had the worst OL in the history of blocking. I'm hoping, and after watching some of Briles offenses, you don't need Orando Pace and Bruce Matthews to block for 14 seconds to move the ball. I haven't heard great things about Clements but it seems within Briles' system it's more about "look here's what you do to make it work", instead of teaching these guys old school OL blocking. We had Rick Trickett for a damn decade so even if Clements said spit on him that would be a step up

Not much of a risk when the oline is already in the gutter

Different comparing pro position coaches to their ability in college. NFL teams draft and s8gn free agents and are pretty much stuck with what they have which means bad evals could set them back a year or 2. College teams recruit 4-5 a year and kids are playing early on the OL now.

Saying this not talking Clements in particular because i know nothing. Just generalizing

One of the best OL coaches in the nation. He knows how to implement CKB's system very well. Our offensive line, while not loaded with talent, did very well this year. He also recruited some massive guys for us in this class which we desperately needed.

Our running game improved though it was mostly due to King. Carr had a good season. We also had some injury problems at RB.
