I think we’ve seen the HCIW title is virtually meaningless.
Napier turned down the Auburn and South Carolina jobs. Whats’s more likely—he takes the LSU job and proves to be a winner. Well hell, he can still jump to Bama after Saban retires if that is his ultimate goal.
Napier winning a natty or two in BR over the next five years then jumping to the gumps would be a real kick in the nuts.

Napier is one of the hottest names in collage coaching of his age group. College coaches in waiting rarely come true. Even when hired they usually have 1/2 the shelf life because
big money donors expect zero drop off from one coach to another.
This "I have some friends involved" has been sung at several other schools, even Clemson but not on the OC or DC level. And I don't believe this story came from anyone that wasn't at the bar that night.

I'm not opposed to hiring Napier, but I'd only do it with a Bama clause. I want someone capable of creating a Bama type program. Not someone waiting to go there
