(This is not a debate about Crowton and if he should/shouldn't be fired. It's about what the correct lineup of assistant coaches should be)

The only teams that have dedicated QB coaches are the ones that have an offensive coordinator whose experience is at another position. Teams that have a OC/WR coach or OC/OL coach. Those teams have QB coaches.

Crowton is the QB coach and offensive coordinator. There is no situation that would occur that would result in Crowton staying, but hiring a QB coach on staff.

If Gonzalez or (God forbid, Stud) becomes OC, then Crowton would be gone and a QB coach could then be hired.

not true. Just off the top of my head, Paul Petrino was OC at Arkansas and they also had a QB coach (McGee I think). Petrino was OC at Louisivlle for many years.

Im sure there are tons of other examples as well.

I probably shouldn't have said "the only ones" because there are certainly exceptions to every rule, but it's not common for an OC to not coach a position.

Yea I never really thought about it but I did start nosing around after your post. I tend to agree with you. (didn't mean to disagree in the first place, at least not harshly). I think and hope you're correct. This team needs a fresh start, and also something for recruits to get excited about.

No problem. I didn't take it harshly. Did Paul Petrino not coach a position?
