No they didn't. Carroll was like 27-21 at NE, and Belichick was 36-44 with an 11-5 season where they made the playoffs, and two 7-9 seasons.
O had three losing, awful seasons and should go to a mid-major school to prove that he can actually be a head coach.

Sumlin went 5-7 the year before. Sorry I'm not wasting anymore time talking to someone so stupid. Happy thanksgiving
Good. Go watch Michael Sam's draft party highlights some more you weirdo.

Honest question: from what coaching tree is Sumlin?
I know Herman was with Urban. That means he has learned from one of the best, most balanced ( meaning values offense AND defense)
Is Sumlin from the air raid types that ignore defense?
Also, Herman got Ed Oliver to Houston. Pretty big
I would say Sumlin is from the Stoops coaching tree.

Ctiger69 clearly has some underlying homoerotic desires he's trying to suppress

I could probably name 25 if we're counting guys who will never leave their current job.

go look at Houston's schedule this year. they lost to SMU and Navy.
You mean the same Navy team thatll likely win 10 games?

I definitely would. O is a terrible head coach who should do like every other coach and go to a mid-major to earn his opportunity at a bigger school.

I am jsut gonna adress a few of your Replies because you are very off
1. that "very good" UCLA team in 2011 went 6-8. Also go look up that PSU team. That was the year the big scandal and Joe Pa was forced out. They went 1-3 after that.
2. Sumlin was the Co-OC at OU from 2006-2007. OU didn't pay for a NC in 2006 or 2007, much less win one. So winnign NC as OC >>>>>> not playing for one as a CO-OC. (OU didn't even win a bowl game either year)
3. Skins on the wall. I woudl say Sumlin's best win is over a then #5 ranked OSU in 2009. They finished 9-4 and #21 overall. Herman has wins over FSU (#9 when they played #14 final ranking 10-3 overall), OU (#3 at the time, #8 currently at 8-2) and Louisville (#3 when they played #11 currently at 8-2).
4. They run different defenses and I think Sumlin's is more suited to the Big 12 and I think Herman's has been shown to work in the SEC (See Meyer at Florida and Mullen at MSU to a lesser extent)
5. Sumlin took over directly from Briles, who had that program going before he went to Baylor. Herman took over for Tony Levine who has sorta let the program come back a little, Not terrible but his best season was 8-5.

I think your definition of "legit" is very different from mine.

Are you a Coach O supporter? That list of candidates have winning records at programs they built(more or less). How many winning seasons does O have at a program he built?

If we get far enough down the list...i.e. past Jimbo and Herman, yes.

Sure they do, but guys like Whittingham, Petersen, Patterson...all better coaches than O, and none are legit candidates.
Eta...Fuente would be cool despite jumping after one whole season at VT.

The Rant always goes on and on over bullshite like "how we won".... take a look at how Herman won against 4*/5*-filled teams in Oklahoma, FSU, and Louisville with a team full of low 3* and a couple 4* players.
His teams play up to the competition. Like any coach not named Nick Saban, he suffers upset losses every now and then (UCONN, SMU, Navy is a good team though). 22-3 speaks for itself.
LSU over the last two years can't come close to matching up with those three wins despite having more opportunities, much more talent on paper, and one of the most expensive coaching staffs in the country.
We know about his record at Ohio State. What he did in 2014 was unprecedented. He took a wide reciever and made him a QB star at Houston.
Anything else?

There are legit candidates. Willie Taggart is ten times the coach O is, but he won't get a look, except when O is hired and then fired and then we will have to go to Taggart to help us rebuild our program.

Malzahn took a DB, turned him into a QB, almost had a NC. Would you want Malzahn.
