I don't know about Texas though. Just looking at the surface there, it's an absolute mess in Austin. I generally don't like making those type of statements because I have no idea how things are run behind closed doors and I haven't read much about what's going on with their admin. But just from the looks of it from reports I've seen, it's not the most ideal job to take right now because there is ALOT to fix. Tons of hands to shake and kiss arse and the people running the place aren't very interested in sports (apparently)....so how much faith do they have and how much help will this administration have with a new coach?

Just seems like a ridiculous mess over there. I'm not sure there will be that many people that would be serious in taking that job.

Herman. Think about it. If Herman gets us a Natty, that would show the world that it was not JUST Saban and not JUST Miles, but it was LSU that produced Natty's with 3 coaches in a row

That would be a nice feather in our cap.

So, think about how easy it would be to lure a coach over to LSU with that resume

Hopefully. Or it could could scare them off. Would they cower weighed up against higher expectations? I don't think we'd have to worry about that until the next coaching hire, hopefully
in 5-12 years

Coaches at Tier 1 jobs don't leave for other Tier

I know. Which is why Herman has to almost definitely take our offer (if we have indeed given him one). You can't get a job like this with so little rebuilding. I mean, we return a running back who has both the #1 and #3 rushing performance. In LSU fricking history. fricking LSU fricking History, along with a veteran OL, ridiculously talented WR corps, a 5th-year-Senior incumbent QB with over 20 career starts, and tons of talent coming in. You literally never stumble
across a situation as perfect.

People keep downing Jimbo saying he can only win with a Heisman winning QB. What about Dabo Swinney? What kind of team will he have when DeShaun Watson moves on? They develop these QBs. That's how they get to being mentioned in the Heisman running. Jimbo has a freshman QB starting this year and his defense has been terrible. He is scoring points though. Give him LSU's defense and see what record he has. We would be good to have either of these guys. I hope Herman stays at least 5 years if he coaches here.

You want another 15 years of Les Miles?

Herman leaving LSU after only a few years is the only thing that concerns me with hiring him.

LSU is a destination job as far as college goes.
Maybe he goes NFL, but I don't see it. Nothing about his coaching style or his offensive scheme scream NFL.

Last stop? Jimbo is only 51.

Working with saban adds dog years to your life apparently.
