credible angles on this seem to have backed down or back tracked completely on their initial reports, so I disagree. Then all your left w/ is random posters on message boards which is pretty much worthless.

Shea didn't back down. I'm still trying to get word from him today, but he said his sources are "usually" very accurate.

The only "credible" angles that backed down were Sports 2 and the Advocate, who quoted Crowton... which, again I still say, why the hell would he say, "Yeah, I'm done here?"

it's a matter of opinion and alot of people won't be impressed.

But the point is, you're not coming in here and saying just because he sucked at Louisville, he's going to suck for the rest of his career.

fwiw, I think the reason they got better is because Tulsa hired Todd Graham who I think is a great coach. A step up from Kragthorpe. Of course, that's not saying Kragthorpe is god awful.

it was a reach.

I just don't think Kragthorpe is the dog shite people portray him to be.

I think Steve Logan would be MUCH better.

But I don't think Kragthorpe would be a shitty hire. He's a pretty respected guy in coaching circles from what I've read.

I'm saying I want a great OC, and think Kragthorpe is nowhere near that.

I think it'd be maaaybe Chavis level hire on offense at best, and I don't think that's good enough. Miles needs at least one great coordinator to win big, w/o it you have the last two years.

I understand that, but considering the timing, it's slim pickings and the odds of getting a great OC is slim.

Like I said though, it's all a matter of opinion. I don't think he's great and the savior, but I don't think he's a terrible choice. I think he'd be successful.

w/ the money LSU pays assistants, program resources, talent, etc, there's no excuse for settling.

Personally, I wouldn't mind seeing what Gonzales would be able to do. But that's just me.

Other than Logan, who's the great OC that is out that would just up and leave their current positions? I'm sure there's ALOT more to hiring someone than just saying "hey, here's some money. Come coach at LSU"

and you can't just write off how bad his offenses were at L'ville. Weis still had ND near the top in the nation on offense.

haven't done a lot of research since it appears the Wizard is staying, but Logan is up there and available.

In regards to the first post, wasn't GatorCountry one of the first to provide the Gonzales to LSU story? I know that came from the Florida side before LSU's side.

Miles is so mum on everything, it's painful.

I realize this one has nothing to do with Florida but my point is two-fold. the Florida site has posted credible stuff in recent days in relation to coaching changes but more importantly, it's a reminder that other places reported the Gonzales information and then LSU sites/sources found out about it.

That's what I wonder about all of this smoke even while the Advocate and the LSU side claims they know nothing about a change.

FWIW, my UF friend said that site has a reputation of "breaking stories" but also a reputation for throwing any and everything out there in hopes that they stick.
