He will not be QB coach if he goes it's for OC, otherwise he would be at UT.

Do you think that UT is more of an upgrade compared to Ohio State? Come on, man.

UT needs to stop offering Okie State coaches. They’re not coming.

Yes the OC at Tennessee is an upgrade compared to the QB coach at Ohio State. Damn dude, I know we're not what we used to be (or anywhere close), but we're still a top 15 all time program if not top 10 even with our last shitfilled decade.

He will still be there as Co-OC

My question, also. Wilson is being by-passed as HC, and as sole OC. Wouldn't be surprised to see Wilson move on to another program.

I think Yurich is a lock to become OC. Letterman Row has called the Yurich hire. L-Row is the most connected media source in C'bus, IMO.

We will see what happens with Wilson with Day as HC.

If he sticks around as co-OC, he may just like being an assistant getting paid well with less responsibility.

Possibly true. Wilson made 800K in 2018. But on the other hand, the offense in '19 will likely be without Haskins, and without the best group of WRs Ohio State has had in a long time - maybe ever.

Might be time for Wilson to hit the road on a high note.

His point was that he wouldn't be hired by OSU as an coach only and he was right. They aren't paying the QB coach 950 grand a year. Or more than the OC

Pretty ridiculous to pay $950K per year for a QB coach. What are they paying the OC?

Wilson got 800K in '18. So maybe 1 mil or so in '19? Not like the OSU (or LSU) program is short on cash.

There are a lot of places that Wilson can get 1 mil+. Wilson may not stay. Big question mark.

My OP clearly stated that it was probable that he was being hired as more than just the QB coach. But...

quote:

Ohio State officially announces addition of former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich as passing game coordinator and QB coach

I saw that after my post. Serious question, how much is Days salary? Is Wilson gone or gonna be? Hard to fathom the OC and QB coaches combined salary being on par with the head coach's. Essentially 2 mil for 2 assistants. I know Aranda makes a shite ton and is somewhat close to Orgerons salary but its an uncommon situation I would think

I think Day is at 4 million a year as the head coach. Wilson is at $800k. I honestly don't know if he'll stay or go as he's damaged goods after IU but maybe with time served someone will take a flyer on him. I can say that there have been no reports of the IU behavior at Ohio State.

I don't see how LSU is going to hold on to Aranda for long. I've always been impressed by him.
