Joe Brady sucks without the #1 qb in draft heisman winner, 3 first round talents at WR, and a first round rb. He would have been very underwhelming with 2020 and 2021 talent.

While I think Dave Doeren is a good coach for NCSU that’s the best guy you can think of for the job?

Speaking of which.

I thought you were a Tucker guy?

I’ve defended against some Tucker hate but I don’t think of myself as a Tucker guy.

I’m preparing myself for an off the wall hire.

Yea, you gave me shite for “shitting on him”.

Mostly just frustration thinking he would even be considered.

There’s really nothing to defend. His record is pretty atrocious as a HC, with practically zero quality wins. (Michigan isn’t a great team, it was poorly officiated and they still should have won)
And then gets blown out the next week vs an unranked team.
Seems like a good guy, a lot of fire, but Head Coach at LSU, not even close.

I might be the only other poster who thinks that Doeren is probably in the mix. With the combination you just gave it would be a very good long term choice....especially with Nielsen, he is very good. But LSU fans for some reason don't like NFL guys....Arnsparger was not liked initially and was treated with suspicion when he was hired.

We aren’t hiring a head coach bc of who he might be able to hire as coordinators. Alleva has left the building

I I’ve in NC and have been watching Doeren since he arrived at State. Thanks, but no thanks.

The truth is, you kinda do hire a guy on the types of talent he can get both in terms of assistants and players. Not saying that Doeren has the ability to attract Nielsen and Brady. But that part is as important as player accumulation
