But honestly, the last two years of Jimbo have been the same thing as Les, but in Tally. Mega talent losing when they shouldn't.
isnt he playing a freshmen qb?
minus bama, you tell any fanbase their starting qb is a freshmen and they wont have the highest hopes for the season.

We aren't going to pay Gundy 7M
The point is that LSU can afford that type of money, and it can be replicated into national championships
There is no reason to settle

So O would require a top tier OC?
Seriously, every coach would/should. Look at coaches that try and play the "offensive/defensive" genius role. They tend to implode.
Every coach in America should and does want to hire the best available staff. I don't see how this is in any way a valid concern.
If we hired Jimbo, I would hope he'd want to hire a legit OC and DC.

How do you not see the irony?
The irony of what? I've never said Jimbo wasn't a fit...

A freshman qb who is on pace to have a better year than Mett had in his senior year at LSU

College football is so centered around recruiting and our state is set up perfectly for basically anyone to come in and recruit better than most teams in the country. Jimbo is a top recruiter and would clean house in LA.
That's a glowing endorsement for Ogeron.

I don't see what O brings to the table besides meaningless intangibles people keep throwing out there. He loves the school....great so did Les.
I mean, full function, I think he's a better version of Les.
Les got so risk averse he drove the offense into the ground. If he had let go and hired a guy like Lincoln Riley, like Bob Stoops did, LSU would probably be the team going to the playoff last year.

The point is that we don't need a cultural fit to succeed in recruiting LA
None of the kids we want are coonasses anyways

LSU has always been a QB developer away from a championship. Jimbo is a known QB developer.
Hmm....
I do think it's wrong to assume that LSU getting more out of QB will suddenly assure they are better.
Jimbo's teams get much more from the QB and still lose games they shouldn't. There might be trade off in other areas...

So if our 3rd choice is not worth that much, at what point are we not settling?

The trade off is defense
Jimbo lost a top DC in Pruitt
He's be inheriting Aranda

Apologies, I meant he year after Winston won it all, as that tends to be the argument around here

And the question is why. It wasn't money, like so many people wanna say. They just paid their shitty DC what Pruitt got from UGA...
And besides, since when are we giving breaks for losing a good coach and not replacing him? He hired a shitty replacement and doubled-down on him.
Imagine Les, in 2009, saying, "Yeah, we're gonna go ahead and Give Malleveto a big raise. Happy with the work they've done." That's what Jimbo did...

I'd hope so, but I don't think that's a slam dunk either.

No, thats a glowing endorsement for a guy with a much better coaching resume.
The recruiting is there already, which is coach O's only 'advantage'. The easy recruiting in LA makes the job harder to get for O

There is an answer. FSU matched, but Pruitt has undisclosed reasons for leaving.
Pretty well known he had issues with keeping his pants zipped up

Jesus dude. You are leaning on a lot of what ifs with Jimbo and any other coach but seem to be so sure of Orgeron, even though we've no idea who this top OC would be
