Can we just assume this means he will be back next season?

I didn't think he did either. But last night someone posted a link to an article (from Rivals I think?) that said he was recruited by Miles, Frank Wilson, and Gary Crowton.

he and frank wilson went to butler cc on the Monday of our open date on a recruiting visit. At the time peoples reaction was, why is GC involved in recruiting him if he may not be here?

He was definately involved in the process and it may have been a role of this is the type of O we will run if you come here.

I recall seeing that GC went to Butler with Wilson that time, but was hoping his role in the process was minimal. I read that Miles himself did alot more than usual to recruit Mett, including going to Sunday's game in person. I still think GC's presence here was not a factor at all in Mett's decision.

Perhaps its because Crowton has not been fired yet

Frank Wilson

This gives me hope. Wilson is a great recruiter and has been extremley valuable to LSU so far, he's brought in some good players.

Exactly, he is still the offensive coordinator for this team and part of his job is to help in recruiting.

A couple of years ago, we we're recruiting Sam Montgomery and we let Earl Lane go. Soon thereafter, he and Brick visited Sam for an in-home visit. I hope this is a similiar situation.
