Why would Jimbo leave his job at FSU for LSU? I just don't see what the draw would be compared to his current position? Seems that the advantages are pretty equivalent for both: recruiting base, major conference, history of championships and Heisman winners...

He currently competes with 2 other big schools with in state recruiting. He'd be the only team in the state.

Also, SEC>ACC

ACC has closed gap on SEC, arguably exceeded SEC.

Ego.

If you want to be the best then you have to compete with the best. The SEC has been the best league in college football for the last decade (although this has clearly been a down year).

I'm sure every coach outside of Meyer is eager to prove that they can take down the invincible Nick Saban.

There's been like 2800 threads on this. He would leave for more money and a greater commitment from the administration he works for. This ain't Bobby's FSU admin. The world's changed a lot since Warrick Dunn was in Tallahassee.

The only thing I think we have an advantage in is if he might want out of FSU. I have no idea if he does, but him being connected to the LSU job two years in a row is kind of strange, IMO. Especially with how much he's getting paid and that it's basically seen as a lateral move

I asked some of the FSU posters if they are getting fed up with Jimbo continuously being connected. One said they want him to be somewhere he's happy if he needs that.

I have no idea if Jimbo is unhappy there, but I think that would be the most likely advantage LSU has if so. And I know his kids are in Tallahassee, but his ex wife is also very involved in that community and we have no idea what Jimbo is thinking. We'll just have to wait and see.

ETA: Also he didn't get a raise last year and that might be very telling as to who backed out of the deal. Probably LSU.
