i Can't believe they got rid of Pat Hill. 3 years ago he was considered the hottest coach in america.

But haven't they, the university, ran in to money troubles? I think Hill took a pay cut to help them out.

I think it was one of those things where perception overcame the reality of how good a coach he was. He was there for 15 years and he only won one conference title, and that one was a three-way tie. And that was in the WAC. There were a lot of 5 and 6 loss seasons.

and that one season featured david carr, correct?

he should be fired for convincing the texans that he was worth a #1 pick.

Believe it or not, it actually didn't. Carr was redshirting that year (1999) and Billy Volek was the QB. They did have Derrick Ward and Bernard Berrian, though.
