It’s happening 100 percent

Brett Norsworthy of Ole Miss/IMG Football Network discussed the latest on Freeze with Vols Wire Friday afternoon. “All indications are pointing to something with Tennessee,” Norsworthy told Vols Wire. “They (Tennessee) are getting a really good football coach.”

This week Trey Wallace of Fox Sports Knoxville and I both had sources saying that Freeze will be cleared to coach again in the SEC after being fired from Ole Miss in July 2017 with NCAA issues following.
WELCOME BACK TO THE SHOW COACH FREEZE!!

They're fairly close. Not as close as O and Kiffin, but pretty close. At least based on their public statements, I wouldn't worry about that.
Why does BR local media seem to think that O wants nothing to do with Freeze?

Are we sure he isn’t holding out for Alabama or Auburn?

I guess we'll see.
While the rest of college football is working towards making their coaches / teams better, LSU sits idly by and does nothing.

They don’t get along at all, despite what many here say. O never wanted him at OM, but HF was forced on him for delivering Oher and Hardy.

I'd like to point out: the interview happened ~20 hours ago and, thus far, Hugh Freeze is still a free agent.
There is still time for Ed Orgeron to make a move to improve LSU's offense.

Chris Low said this morning he expects VOLS to make an OC hire within 24-48 hours and all signs point to Freeze
quote:
According to Chris Low of ESPN, an announcement on who will be the Vols’ next offensive coordinator could be coming in the next 24 hours. Low has been well-connected with UT’s offensive coordinator search, and he appeared on The Nation on WNML on Sunday afternoon to talk about the search. During his appearance, he shed some on Tennessee’s decision-making process in the coaching search.
“Right on through, I think Hugh Freeze has been right there at the top of the list,” Low said on The Nation. “I think Jeremy is trying to check all the boxes. I would expect by (Monday), certainly Tuesday at the latest that he’s gonna have an offensive coordinator on board.
“I know everybody wants to know if it’s going to be Hugh Freeze, if he’s the leader. I don’t want to speak for Jeremy Pruitt, but as I’ve said right on through, and I’ve tried to be consistent with all this, I think Hugh Freeze is right there in the forefront of this search. And I think he’s somebody that could help Tennessee a lot.”
Low added that Tennessee Athletics Director Phillip Fulmer spoke with Pruitt and told him to “talk to several people” to figure out the best fit for what he wants to do with UT’s offense. Pruitt has spoken with Freeze, Auburn offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey, Alabama quarterbacks Dan Enos, and NC State offensive coordinator Eli Drinkwitz.
While each candidate offers their own pros and cons, Low believes Freeze has what Pruitt is looking for in his next OC, calling him “creative” and “innovative” as a play-caller.
“When you look at where this offense is, they need somebody that can come in and has a track record, a history of being able to move the football and score points with personnel that’s maybe not on the level of Georgia or Alabama,” Low added. “And Freeze has done that wherever he’s been.”

I could still see it being Lindsey. I really think Freeze wants the Bama job and is waiting to see if it opens up.

I think any of those candidates would have been fine, except MAYBE Lindsey.
I feel like Lindsey would be the riskiest of the 4, and all signs point to having the exact same shitty offense we've seen the last 2 years. But the rumors about Gus handcuffing him may be true and he could be great. Problem is we just don't know if that's the case.
Total fricking disaster would have been promoting Friend, looks like we're going to avoid that. Avoiding total fricking disaster is a nice change from the last decade.
ETA: HOWEVER, Freeze is who I really want.
