I've never heard of him before this thread.
he coached at Ole Miss under Orgeron, then when O got fired he went to Southern Miss, with Larry Fedora and a couple other former Ole Miss assistants. When Mullen took the job at Mississippi St, Wilson jumped on board there, until a couple weeks later when Kiffin went to Tennessee and Wilson followed Orgeron there.

LSU does not need to get on its knees for one prospect by getting this guy to ensure we get him. I'm sorry. Our team's future is more important than going out to please one major prospect and then pissing rest of the team off.

UT's backs have played fine this year.
Then Eddie Gran is doing a great job, but Wilson is coaching their receivers this year.

Except, he doesn't coach UT's RBs. Do some research before you post. I guarantee all of you wanting this guy, know absolutely nothing about him.
And that is the dumbest thing I've ever read. Hire a overrated coach who could potentially put you on recruiting violations, just because you want a 5 star prospect who might turn out to be a bust. All on risking the development of our player's future.
Please stay away from LSU and if you have tickets, please sell them. Thanks.

Well their reciever haven't been great, call me crazy all you want I want Anthony Johnson. I don't think we necessarily need Wilson to do it though.

Calm down there, no need to get testy

I'll be honest, I know basically nothing of him except he has ties to LA. I have no feeling one way or the other, so I'm just wonder what makes him a recruiting cheater and a terrible coach? I'm not being a smartass, I know nothing about him so I'm just looking for solid facts.

Deuce, please provide a couple of validatable examples of Frank Wilson being a dirty recruiter and a subpar coach.
You sound like you know some stuff about him.
Examples?

quote:Agreed, but I totally disagree on giving up development of RB's. You do realize how young we will be at RB next year, right? Murphy may not be 100%, so we are looking at Ridley, then freshman. A soph and freshmen with most of the snaps and you don't think their development is more important than a single recruit. Come on dude...

They started slow, but they were great as the year progressed. Wilson did an outstanding job.

Crompton didn't throw all of those TD's to nobody. Also, who was the last big WR recruit UT landed. Don't say Richardson.

Gerald Jones had a good year.

I was arguing in Wilson's favor saying he developed guys that weren't all star recruits into having good seasons in which they improved as the year went on.

Ole Miss's running backs did fine while he was there so I don't think it will be situation where they will get no coaching. If he's an average RB's coach but he helps deliver all those big recruits for 2011 and he's only here for one year I don't see why anyone would freak out about that. People say he's dirty because of what they saw on a message board or what somebody told them but the NCAA hasn't said anything about him. That said I don't think he's the only option.
