Many of the newly hired coaches will want a top recruiter for Louisiana players on their staff.

Ole Miss, Auburn, Florida, Kentucky, Arkansas, and even Tulane.

Frank Wilson will land a good job somewhere.

He will.

But Louisiana is all about LSU, for the most part, not Frank Wilson.

Go follow Frank Wilson University then.

If what is going on is true, he shouldn’t be here. If it’s not, I hope he gets a spot on staff. But I do not necessarily believe he is owed an on field spot.

It’s too bad he made his living as a Nola bag man instead of learning how to coach RBs. We could use a good RB coach at lsu.

Regardless of what people think, winning has a massive impact on recruits. It might start a little rough in New Orleans without someone directly linked to some of those schools, but Frank has been off of the LSU staff more than he's been on it over his career, and LSU has won 3 national championships without him on staff..... I mean... he's an excellent asset for recruiting, but I have no idea where this 'he's irreplaceable' mantra came from. Other schools dip into New Orleans and take kids out of there all the time. It's not like someone else can't build relationships to recruit New Orleans. Win a bunch of games and watch them flock to LSU regardless....

Giving a guy a position coach job because he’s a good recruiter is not good business. Brad Davis ring a bell?

If Wilson wants to be on staff he needs to take a recruiting role.

Wilson added more staff value than Cortez Hankton.

Who is arguing that?

Hankton is probably gone.

Ok

Hankton isn’t being retained it seems. Wilson is being offered a recruiting position.

Don't fault Frank for wanting an on the field position, and waiting to see if any other programs make him a strong arse offer to be the RB coach and Director of Recruiting. Im sure he'll give LSU the opportunity to match any offers that he receives.

And don’t fault LK if he makes the decision to bring in Kevin Smith whom is a much better RB coach

I doubt he’s going to get an onfield position. Kiffin wants his guy from OM.

I guess we will see

As the lead recruiter for the Tigers, Wilson landed some of the most decorated players in school history in Fournette, defensive back Tyrann Mathieu, wide receivers Jarvis Landry and Odell Beckham Jr. and offensive lineman La’el Collins.

Overall, Wilson has coached or recruited 47 individuals who have gone on to play in the NFL.
In nine seasons at LSU, Wilson developed seven running backs that were selected in the NFL Draft, including first-team All-SEC performers in Fournette, Hill and Ridley.

I'll wait for you to post Kevin Smith's accolades.

Lsu has been just fine with him not on staff but I do believe we need some Louisiana connections. Louisiana is what makes Lsu great.
