Happy for Frank. Everyone shat on me when I said he didn’t want to go from HC back down to a recruiting coordinator again
This is my problem with the argument that there aren't enough black head coaches.
Instead of going somewhere and building a resume as an offensive coordinator, he goes from RB coach to Head Coach, fails, and then his options are low tier (no offense to McNeese) HC or RB coach. If he fails at McNeese, hell be a RB Coach the rest of his career.
For there to be more black head coaches, there have to be more black coordinators. For there to be more black coordinators, they have to pay their dues in shitty situations and turn down jobs making $300k to be the guy that talks black kids into coming to a Powerhouse (Frank, Trooper Taylor, etc).

As I said, O taken care of his twin boys at McNeese.
Plus, pretty sure Wilson just wants to be a HC.
Ed taken care of him too.

That's difficult to turn down when you are coming from a situation where you don't have any familial money as is the case with most Black folks.

No, you're the damn idiot. You don't know shite. Coach O's father worked for the phone company. Most Black children are raised in single parent homes. There is no damn daddy. Furthermore, working for the phone company in a low cost of living state like Louisiana can give one a middle class lifestyle and I know plenty of guys who work for Entergy doing just that. So, the circumstances Coach O grew up in are vastly different from the circumstances many Black coaches grew up in like Randy Shannon. No father in the home, one sibling died from AIDS, his brother stole Randy's identity, etc. But, keep believing the bullshite.

All of that is legit, but it doesn't entitle them or anyone else to be the head football coach at a P5 school or NFL franchise anymore than it entitles them to be the CEO at Walmart or GM.

Did I say that? No. I'm simply saying this is why you see many Black coaches stick it out as position coaches and recruiting coordinators rather than take the salary cut to become a coordinator at a lesser school and work themselves up the career ladder. Most Black coaches aren't able to get the opportunity Josh Gattis got to go from a WR coach to OC at a place like Michigan.

Explain that to ESPN and the rests of media so we don't have to hear the same stories every year.

Man, frick ESPN. I'm Black but I'm no damn liberal or Democrat. I'm just telling you why I believe that many Black guys aren't taking a cut in salary to get on the coordinator to head coach career track.

Somebody brought up the example of Gattis at Michigan, and I think that's a good one. He moved around and took on more and more offensive responsibility at every stop. When the opportunity at Michigan came along, he was ready.
