2 - The 4 mil we paid him to gtfo.
I've got big money oil well friends, I mean I read on a message one time that if you went to Shula's house on any given day, he would be watching cartoons with this children.

He wasn't that bad. Took them to their first bowl in years and was an OT loss away from playing in an seccg. If not injuries to croyle and prothro he probably does better than 6-6 the other year.

Tommy Tuberville is the first name that comes to mind for me.

Derek Dooley deserves another head job
someone said Butch Davis, i think he is a good coach that can turn a program around
But anyone that can make Arkansas a top 5 team has done something right...
Bobby Petrino is a guy that id love to have...He is a offensive Nick Saban...
Plus I dont care what he did, he was a banging a volleyball chick, who wouldnt? Im sure more than most football coaches have done shite like this...he just got caught...

To be honest, Mike Shula is not a bad coach. He was never really given a chance to succeed, given what he stepped into at such an early point in his career. If he can improve his play calling by not being so conservative all the time, he can be very good.

Ed Orgeron deserves another shot after getting Pac 12 coach of the year as an interim.
Thought he did a very good job at USC.

Lane Kiffin may not yet deserve another shot but he will get one because of his experience at his age.
Maybe at a mountain west school

What about Zook?
Seems like he's enjoying himself away from the field, so I can't blame him too much.

Honorable mention to those former SEC HC who landed on their feet: Tommy Tubberville, David Cutlciff, and Urban Meyer.
Petrino as well

Derek Dooley
I agree with this. He did very well at La Tech. Tenn is said to be one of the hardest jobs bc of the recruiting battles. I know he was at a top SEC school but maybe he's learned from it.

The only unforgiveable offense to me as a coach is when your team quits playing for you, ala Houston Nutt at Ole Miss.

Muschamp... eventually he might learn and open up the offense. His style would work really well at a low level SEC school that doesn't have a lot of talent- like a Tennessee or an MSU.

Losing record w/ teams not bought and paid for.

Umm... He took us to a bowl in 2004. We went to a bowl in 2001 and we would have went to a bowl in 2002 if we weren't on a post-season ban. It's not like we were on a 5 year bowl drought.

What about Hal Mumme(spelling)?

There was a lot more to Mike Shula's failure than his playcalling. Bad O-line coach, poor S&C program, no player discipline, etc.
But hey, they were so close.
