I'm still not convinced. Can you start more threads about him so I can be sure we've covered all the bases? TIA.

I was an anti-O guy and though that is a great article, I can't say I'm convinced ( hey, I'm concerned ) but Chavis or Rhoades were my picks for DC, so it looks like we both get our guys! Here's to more great years of LSU football!

I think most of the article is a little overboard. USC has not fallen off very much if at all since Coach O left. With just a play here or there against OSU, they are undefeated and in the BCSCG this year. One fourth of this year's recruiting class are 5-stars with almost all the rest being 4 stars. As usual, their avg star rating is best in the country.

Now did he help start the ball rolling at USC for Pete Carroll? Maybe. He's definately one helluva recruiter. But USC wasnt exactly a place that talented young kids wouldnt want to attend. The history, along with the west coast, was already there.

But Coach O will definately be a big plus to LSU's staff....if nothing else, for the intensity and recruiting abilities alone.

Good article. But read this paragraph from the article.

quote:

From that point on, USC built up its program and won national championships in 2003 & 2004. In 2005, they lost in the BCS National Championship to Vince Young & the Texas Longhorns.

Should be revised to say that 2003 was an awarded AP title not an earned BCS title.

Yes, this again.
