USC growing concerned of losing Fickel to LSU. Price war could ensue.

Fickel doesn’t want to leave the Midwest. He isn’t going to either school.

Why would fickell leave when he is no.2 in the polls in his home state? He is fixing to out recruit osu... lol...he would be crazy to leave when he can win right at home...

People are really willing to ride this Fickell won't leave the Midwest thing until they die because they read something somewhere.

If that dude doesn't leave Cincinnati when he's on top he's going to potentially miss his chance.

LUKE Fickel will not be the USC Coach. He probably will not be the LSU coach. But LSU has a better shot at a guy who has never lived outside or coached outside of Ohio than USC.

You know him?

I keep reading this statement when his name is mentioned and I wonder where the frick you all get that from. Unless he's come out and said that in which I would stand corrected.

Fickell is unproven. I look at him like Tom Herman.

No, no he's not. He's still at a school with limited resources. They aren't going to all of a sudden become a juggernaut in recruiting because of a few good years and a move to a Big 12 without Texas or Oklahoma.

Cincinnati is the same situation as TCU before the move to the Big 12, and look at what they've done since the move. The only difference is Cincy is the only Big 12 team in Ohio, so could theoretically pull better talent than TCU could in Texas.

But its still a matter of "Do you want to play Michigan, Wisconsin, and Penn State; or TCU, Oklahoma State, and Kansas State" for the recruits in Ohio.

If he doesn't want to leave the Midwest, that's one thing. But staying at Cincy because of where they are now and the move to the Big 12 seems short-sighted to me. I don't think Cincy has a ceiling much higher than where they are now.

Heard this being discussed on the radio. Apparently has alot to do with his wife and kids. One bit of speculation was that someone would pull James Franklin from Penn State, and Fickell would end up there.

I’d rather an “unproven” hire more than a “proven” hire like Orgeron. He was a proven idiot

I am told Fickell has said no at this point. The two names are likely Franklin and then Tucker.

There was a time whenever I heard Dave Aranda didn’t want to be a head coach. Things change.

Cincinnati will make the playoff this year then get blown out in the first game. Fickell will realize he can never get the talent to win a natty there. Fickell then becomes LSU's next head coach. No sources, just speaking it into existence.

I was listening to ESPN radio yesterday and they played a clip of Fickel talking in a post game press conference. And it's fricking night and day between he and Ed O.

He's one of those type people that may very well be full of shite but sounds smart enough to make it convincing.
