FCS and smaller southern small college openings - Laird out at Northwestern State

Who does NSU hire? I bet Fitz Hill, formerly the San Jose State HC, and Scott Maxfield at Henderson State are interested in at least an interview.
East Tennessee State fired George Quarrels after only two years. Why did Randy Sanders leave two years ago in the first place?
South Carolina State coach Buddy Pough retired with a 151-93 record.
Texas Southern and Southern U fired their head coaches.
West Georgia is moving up from DII to FCS, and will be reportedly hiring a new head coach.
DII Northeastern State fired their head coach. Northeastern State is in Tahlequah, a beautiful southern town, and the setting for much of the literary classic Where the Red Fern Grows
DII Southwestern Oklahoma State head coach job is open. Rob Ryan and Rex Ryan played there back in the day. Weatherford, OK is flat as hell.
Head coach job at DIII Millsaps is open! North part of Jackson, MS.
Westminster College outside of Columbia MO is open.

WGC hasn't been WGC since 1996. They are the University of West Georgia.
David Dean resigned; so, yes, they will be hiring a new coach.

Yes. Chris Hatcher was the head coach. David Dean was the OC. Muschamp was DC, and Smart was the DB coach. That was Hatcher's first season.
Muschamp left after that season, and Smart became the DC for the next one after which he left.
When Hatcher left for the Georgia Southern HC job, Dean was promoted and won the national championship in his first season and then picked up a second one five years later.
Eventually, Dean left to be the OC at Georgia Southern (not under Hatcher) but was fired after one season at which time he got the HC gig at UWG.

I don't know. I just saw it.
He was a legend at Ruston High School. His dad popped up into Arkansas at times and coached high school, I think the Nashville Scrappers.

He's 59 but will turn 60 soon.
He's spent almost his entire career bouncing between VSU and UWG. After a year as a GA and one year as an assistant in high school, he was an assistant at VSU for four years. He then was an assistant at UWG for eight years. He came back to VSU under Hatcher and was an assistant for seven seasons and then HC for nine seasons. After the year at GSU, he was HC at UWG for seven seasons.
He has more than enough time in the retirement system in GA to start drawing his money, but he has said he will continue to coach.

SC State did not fire Buddy Pough he retired. Second best coach in State history, and Bulldog nation thanks Jim for what he’s done for the program.

It seems these low level jobs just churn through a lot of the same names, rather than hire young coaches who work their way up to higher levels.
I guess the FBS assistant route is a better path than the FCS or below head coach route.
I know Leipold, Kleiman and others took that route, but it seems rare.
