If so this is a dumb move. You don't just take the number 1 safety prospect in the country who is one hell of an athlete and move him to linebacker. Thoughts anyone??

As I recall, I think Ronnie Lott played LB late in his career and was very effective. Perhaps some hybrid scenario is afoot here. I don't know, as long as the best athletes are on the field at every position.

!) This has been said by Buddy Songy and Dandy Don...thus there is almost NO WAY it is actually true.

2) Brian Urlacher (sp?) was a safety and became an elite LB. No one thinks that was a loss.

As stated in #1, you need a LOT better source for me to even wonder as to its validity.

Is it a Coleman type deal?

I think its a "make believe" type deal.

Is it possible? Of course.

Would this decision have been made NOW? I don't think so.

Is it likely that the only two people to have this "scoop" is Dandy Don and Buddy Songy? No way in HELL

Because if Loston WERE to move, he would, in effect, be "changing position coaches"?

Coleman seems to have adjusted well, and since LSU is essentially playing a 4-2-5 half the time, this could prove to be very beneficial. If Loston is good in run support, this is a great move.

This is why you do things such as move him to LB. John Chavis knows how to develop LBs, that's no secret. I'd say leave the coaching to him.

Yeah, replace Safety with Tight End and Lineback with Defensive End and you just described Marcus Spears, I heard he was okay after the switch.

Chavis has a very impressive history of doing this---could be a very nice move.
