He and Arians are the only interim coaches to ever lead a team to the playoffs (and Arians got a HC job right after his stint after being a career assistant) and teams are seemingly desperate to find a grown up and leader of men as a HC. Doesn't he fit the mold perfectly?

I think the wide goatee hurts his chances

He’s such a great special teams coach that i feel like it somehow almost works against him if that makes sense.

Being a special teams coach works against any coach trying to become a head coach in the nfl. They just aren't looked at the same as a DC or oc.

Which is amazing, these peoole consider themselves so smart and know all about football, but sometimes they have blindspots for the simplest solutions.

If you've ever heard any of his former players talk about him, they all say they'd basically run through a wall for him.

John Harbaugh is the only other ST coach being tsht successful, but Belichick was also a ST coach at one point.

The Giants and Joe Judge probably really hurt, too.
